Updated photo to go along with the updated post. She was playing hide and seek at the playground, her version anyway! It was fun!

This is the question we hear, often multiple times a day, from many people who want to do something but don’t know what to do or how to help. We typically struggle to know how to answer the question in the moment. Partly because we are feeling overwhelmed with everything but also because everyone’s situation is different and it’s just difficult to know how to answer the question. There are many things that need to be done that Brent and I have to do ourselves but it was recommended to us that we make lists so that when someone does ask we can point them to the link and they can choose what area of help works best for them in their life and circumstances. Feel free to let us know if you have questions about any part of this information. If you think of a way you would like to help that is not listed let us know what you are thinking. I do want to say a huge thank you to so many who have helped in many, many, ways already!

GoFundMe: My mother’s cousin, Lee, set this up to help cover the expenses surrounding Alex’s medical care. Travel for surgery and prosthesis, medical equipment, medications, and supplements, for post amputation, medical bills not covered by insurance and living expenses while we are traveling back and forth. It has been a lengthy two years on this journey with Alex and so many have lended a hand in numerous ways, for which we are grateful. We arrived back in TN on March 9th following surgery and five weeks of recovery. There will be two more two weeks trips to Texas over the next four to six months for cast removal, follow up, therapies, and prosthesis. If you feel led to donate to the gofundme know that the funds will go towards travel related expenses during these times. Thank you. https://gofund.me/d870c58d
Amazon Wish List: This list covers multiple purposes. First, due to Alex’s amputation she will be in a spica cast for up to 12 weeks. She will be in a supine position during that time. After she comes out of the spica it will still be several months before she has her first prosthesis made. There are things we will need to help manage this time with her as well as things to help her adjust to her new normal as an amputee. Second, we have included items on the list to help make this time go by more quickly and to make this time more enjoyable.
Meal Train: Our church family started this meal train. If you would like to jump on board and help in this way here is the link! If gift cards or grocery cards are better that is helpful also. We are home from Texas following surgery and adjusting to so many new things. Alex is still in her spica cast for five to six more weeks as well.

Home/Yard/Childcare help: This sign up genius was created by another dear friend. Thank you, Robin, for all the time and energy you put into helping me think through what would be helpful. Below is a note from Robin.
If you are able to help at the Morgan’s house, you can text Anna and confirm that the day/time works for her. Then you can input your name on sign up genius so others know she is covered that day. It also has a place to sign up to help with laundry. Laundry can be picked up and done at your home and returned to them. Here are some of the specific needs. Playing with the younger children, doing laundry, weeding flower beds or weeding or harvesting in the gardens, cleaning bathrooms or other housework. The Morgans just ask that people use common sense as far as illness (not coming if someone is sick, washing hands). They leave it up to individuals whether they are more comfortable wearing masks, but it’s not their expectation. Here’s the link to the sign up genius: Anna’s cell 615-525-0707.
