Here is the video of Alex playing ball. https://rumble.com/vdjujb-alexs-first-outing-post-rotationplasty.html
Today has been smoother than anyone expected. Alex had some breakfast first thing this morning and then the transition from iv to oral pain management began. After her first dose of oral meds her morphine pump was turned off and after a few hours of her doing really well all the wires were removed. Most of the morning Brent was at the hospital with her and I went to take a break and was fixed a wonderful, huge breakfast by our new friend, Mrs. Nina. I didn’t realize how hungry I was until I started eating. We have been eating really well thanks to Park City Pres setting up a meal train for us for dinners but I just haven’t been eating much otherwise due to being with Alex or sleeping. It was sweet to have this break, a meal, and a visit with a friend. When I went back to the hospital Brent took a break we got Alex up out of the bed and into her wheel chair. I took her on a walk down the hallway and then she wanted to go outside. I didn’t think that would be allowed but it was and she and I were both so excited. We met Brent outside and took a walk around the path at the hospital. The weather was perfect. Sunshine, a light breeze, and 70 degrees. When we passed the court she got really excited and asked if we could play out there. While she was in surgery on Monday we had found a whiffle ball there and left it when we were done so it was there to play with. She shot baskets, we played toss across the tennis net, and she practiced rolling herself around. She was all smiles. when we got back to the room she was worn out and ready for a nap.
She has had a lot of yummy troubles from post surgery bathroom issues and an enema this evening so we have had a much harder end of the day. She wakes up and cries and asks why her tummy hurts so much and then we get her calm and back to sleep. Things seem to have calmed down now and she is sleeping so hopefully that will continue most of the night.
We have been able to open the windows in her hospital room today and a beautiful breeze has been blowing in and creating a white noise that has paired nicely with her diffuser and music to create a calming environment for her to rest in when she can.
The doctors and nurses are all impressed with this little warrior. Alot if the swelling has gone down already also. There is still swelling but it is not nearly as bad as it was. She May even be able to go home from the hospital sooner that we had thought. God is so good!
I am going to end here and go get a nap! We will update again tomorrow.

Thanks for the update. I am so happy that you have good weather. The kids in TN are probably hoping for snow. :)
So wonderful for her to get to go outside already!
You all are so amazing!! Alex you light up my life😘 I am praying faithfully for a speedy recovery. Press on you little warrior and continue to touch your caretakers hearts with your wonderful loving smiles and determination. Hugs and kisses! Love you all.
