Short and sweet!

In this photo she is doing what we call the hop dance and she does it all the time. Today was sweet and hard. Today was a day full of lasts. While they are small lasts in many ways they are still lasts that as her parents we notice and they hit us hard. The beautiful thing about this day of lasts is that being here means that tomorrow begins our days of firsts and that we are excited and thankful for. Can we say, mixed emotions? It helps so much that she is so excited and ready.

We started the day worshiping with our church family in Nashville via Zoom. We had lunch and then spent hours at the park playing, walking, and soaking in the sun and fresh air.

Every time a plane would fly over we would speculate about whether it was the plane Pastor Sears was on.

If you notice Alex’s special dress It says Unstoppable Alex. This is the one Ella made for her and she loves it.

we connected with Pastor Ian and Alex was able to chat with Mrs. Anne. She also got a surprise from Mrs. Nina and Mr. John that was hanging on the door when we got back from the park. It was a Princess dress so we went to dinner as a princess.

After dinner we went for ice cream. Ever since Alex found out Pastor Sears was coming out she has been talking about taking him for ice cream. It was a sweet time. Oh and a dance with Daddy while waiting for the ice cream.

On the walk back to the condo Grandma, Pap Pap and the kids called to pray with us before bedtime. Listening to each of our six dear children praying for peace, comfort, for the hands of the doctors, and for rest brought me to tears. It was a precious gift.

The three of us did bedtime together tonight and after we prayed together and sat listening to her calming playlist we put on her tablet, Because He Lives came on. It was the song she fell sleep to and I was thankful those were the words she heard as she fell asleep. They were certainly powerful for me to hear tonight.

We have to be at the hospital at 5 am and plan to meet there to pray at 4:45. Pray for sleep tonight for all of us. Pray specifically for our children back home as this is so hard for them to be away from us during this major life event. I will update throughout the day Tomorrow. We love you all and are thankful for you.
