Alex had a really good night last night. She had two good stretches of sleep and only one long wakeful period. We are thankful she got some good rest because today may be hard. We are specifically asking for prayer today as she is transitioned from IV pain management to Oral. They have put a good plan in place but since each child is different there can be some trial and error to find the right system to manage her pain. The morphine pump was just turned off so the process has begun. Pray also that her stomach would not be too upset but all of the oral pain medications. On the upside once she is switched to oral management she can get all disconnected from her wires and has been told she can get in her chair and go for a ride around the hospital. She is very much looking forward to that. In the photo at the top Alex is holding the painting she unwrapped today. LaRue did 6 paintings for Alex and wrapped each one so she could open them each day after surgery And use them to decorate her room. She has loved having them and opening them has been fun also. Alex is certainly blessed to have such sweet and loving brothers and sisters.

Lord we praise you for a successful surgery and coming off the Iv meds and getting to be wire free. We ask that you help make her pain manageable and minimal. Bring her pleasant distractions and continued peace. Let her tangibly feel the love from all those around her and it make her healing process even smoother. In Jesus name we pray, Amen!
