Cast off week is finally here!!

So much to share, so many good intentions yet so little time! Where did the time actually go? More than a few times I have thought I would update that night and then the day and or night go nothing as I planned and I finally get to bed and think there is just no way, maybe tomorrow night! As you can see I kept pushing it off and now we are here, once again making the trip to Texas! This time it is a girls trip and we will post updates and pictures throughout the week.

The plan is for cast to be removed Monday morning followed by appointments with PT, OT, prosthetics, and doctors. Each day of the week she will have therapies and then we girls will find fun things to do or just snuggle and read and watch movies, depending on how Alex is feeling. Daddy and the boys stayed home this trip and LaRue, Alex, and I are traveling together.

Pray please for comfort as this cast comes off and therapy begins. Pray that she handles well seeing her new leg for the first time. We have shown her pictures and she has shown the pictures to her siblings as a way of encouraging her to talk about it and become more comfortable with it. Pray that this leg has healed properly and is stable enough for her to really begin therapies and move toward her first prosthesis. Pray that she does not become discouraged by possible limitations as she learns to use this leg in its new reality. Pray for Brent and the boys as they are home this week and for Grandma and Pap Pap as they help with the boys.
