This is a hard update on our unstoppable girl. At 5:30 we got a call from Alex’s sweet doctor. The last we had heard things were going well and they looked like they would be finishing up soon. First, Alex is doing great. She looks wonderful and has lost very little blood. One to the hard part. The foot was slow to wake up after the repair but was waking. As they continued to close and cast they noticed the foot just did not have the bloodflow they wanted and they weren’t happy with the way it looked. They have decided to open her back up and retrace steps and find the problem, kink, or issue that is keeping the bloodflow from being good and then getting it fixed. They expect to need to redo at least one vessel repair. We have gone back to the condo to get a little break and have some dinner while we wait. They expect it to be at least a few more hours. Please continue to pray for this amazing team of doctors and nurses as they keep working for success for our little warrior. I’m sure they are as tired as we are or maybe more so and we are so thankful they are willing and able to keep going until it is right. They are giving her a pint of blood since they are going back in. They are taking amazing care of her.
We will update again when we hear more.

As we were waiting we have done a lot of walking. Just before the phone call we were playing some basketball with a whiffle ball we found on the court and getting some exercise. We looked up at the sky and saw these beautiful rainbows on either side of the sun. It was such a sweet promise of God’s loving care for us. We know He is watching out for Alex and guiding the hands of her doctors. It was a beautiful gift at a much needed time.

I am glad that they are being careful. Praying!!!!!!
Praying hard!!!
